The property looked very posh, really nice, grand property. Ideal location. Had a car park which is a bonus. Inside was beautiful, very clean and smart. Felt like you were somewhere posh and expensive. Reception area was immaculate, greeted straight away, booked my car into the car park straight away and explained breakfast times and whereabouts the restaurant and our room was. Room was beautiful, clean, spacious, had a seating area and a tv, also a fan which is a bonus because me and my son always sleep with a fan on and usually they don’t have them in hotels unless you hire one so we were very happy. Beds were extremely comfortable. Lovely dark furniture which matched the decor of the room. Bathroom was great, had a bath and a shower, we were provided with a spare bin bag, and some small toiletries(shampoo, shower gel and soap) which is a nice touch. There was a courtesy tray in the room with kettle, cups, tea, coffee, milk sachets, sugars and sweeteners. The view from the room was over a carpark and buildings it was fine, no noise at all from the road or car park, absolutely peaceful. Breakfast was brilliant, lovely restaurant area, great service from the restaurant staff, very polite and friendly. Great choice of hot food, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast and doughnuts. Juices and hot drinks available. Bar area lovely and nice to see lots of dogs in the hotel. Well stocked bar apart from they didn’t have J20’s or Amaretto. Bar man think his name was Jack? Very polite, smiley and friendly, great service from him. Also nice that the checkout on a weekend is 11am and breakfast is a little later starting so gives you a nice lay in.

I booked this on the morning of the night. I stayed there so very last minute. I booked it as it was a works Christmas night out, and it would save me driving. I wasn't expecting much, but I wasn't bothered as it was just a bed for the night. But for what I paid, I was pleasantly surprised . I booked a single room , it was clean , spacious, and had nice views out of the window to the front of the hotel and gardens in Southport. It had a decent TV, kettle with tea coffee milk and biscuits . A good-sized bathroom with a bath and shower and toiletries . Lots of wardrobe space and drawers and a little changing area with mirror. I also had a buffet breakfast in the morning, with continental and full English plus juices and hot drinks. You could have as much as you wanted. Plus, it was 12 midday checkout ! I paid £47 for the night, and that is very good value for what I got.

Fantastic stay as always! Considering it was a bank holiday weekend and the hotel was very busy, All staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially the staff at the main reception. Our room exceeded expectations (superior double)- Spacious, modern and what I can only assume is the best view in the building! The huge bay window gave almost a panoramic view of Southport promenade, the lake and gardens and the sea in the distance. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the seating area strategically positioned within the bay, soaking in the view, even better at night seeing the ferris wheel and Funland all lit up. The bed was better than what we had experienced in a standard double room, extremely comfortable with a luxurious mattress topper and plenty of space! Bathroom very clean!

The location was a short walk from all the amenities and transport of Lord Street. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The staff I met all put themselves out to help me. Jack at check in resolved my problem with a glitchy pin number on my credit card. The receptionist at around 10 pm found extra bedding when requested. Nickie gave me precise directions for my onward bus to Liverpool. I recommend the Hideaway cafe for great coffee and breakfast, especially eggs benedict!

The lady on reception (didn't catch her name) was lovely, very welcoming, informative and was happy to help. The room was massive, with a lovely view, and whilst I appreciate it is because of the time of the year, it was still a lovely room for the price I paid. I had my dog with me, and the fact there are the ornate gardens opposite the hotel, made it a pleasure walking her, something you don't always get with some hotels.
